Dimalachite River Lodge
Situated on the banks of the Vaal-river,
close to Parys, in the Vredefort-Dome
World Heritage Site, created by the
impact of the biggest and oldest
meteorite that ever struck the earth.
Dimalachite is named after the MALACHITE
KING FISHER (Aloeda Cristata) that nests
along the banks of the Vaal-river, surrounded
by water and nature and where the call of the
Fish Eagle can be heard from time to time.
Dimalachite offer a verity of accommodation options from luxury lodges, regular chalets, sleeping
rooms, youth hostels and camping sites.
We also offer accommodation in secluded lodges bordering the Kruger Park.

ACCOMMODATION
CAMPING

The resort’s camping sites are on the river bank, with a lovely view over the river.
•
There are 60 camp-sites on the riverbank to choose from. with Eskom electricity (three point
plugs), and braai facilities.

The 28 fishing sites are directly on the water, and a bit more expensive.
•
The 32 non fishing sites are in the second row, or directly on the river (not suitable for fishing)
and they are cheaper.
Come and relax at the swimming pool or jacuzzi, do bird watching, paddle on the river and enjoy the thrill of White
water Rafting. Join us for a guided fishing trip and be sure to catch a fish, or catch that big one from your camp-site.
The kids can bring their bicycles, play at the jungle gim or do paint-ball target shooting. Join us for sunset cruise on
rafts (self paddling) just before sunset (minimum 4 people) with snacks or a bonfire braai at a bonfire. Enjoy your
evenings with friends and family on the riverbank around a camp-fire.

FISHING
Dimalachite is a place where the whole family is welcome. Good accommodation and
camping facilities, and don’t forget the BIG fish.
With deep holes and rapids, Dimalachite is the ideal fishing venue for fly as well as bank fishing.
The biggest Large mouth yellow caught here on fly was 24lb.
Our motto is “catch and release”. So please take a nice photo, and release the fish as soon as possible.
We rent out rafts to paddle to the islands and rapids, or you can bring your own.
WHITE-WATER RAFTING
The Vaal river, close to Parys, has some of the best White-water rapids in South Africa. Dimalachite
is a very popular white-water rafting destination for families, corporate & school groups.
We offer Mild to wild rafting, as well as relaxed paddling.

Visit Dimalachite and enjoy our unforgettable team-building activities like survivor challenge, tribal
council, white water rafting, sunset cruise on rafts, target shooting, flying lanterns etc.
Make use of our fully equip t conference facility with data projector, big screen, sound system, white
board and flip charts.
You will enjoy the evenings at the bar and enjoy our Scrumptious meals.
Malachite Ventures are situated 9 km. from Parys on the banks of the Vaal river in the Vredefort
Dome, about one hour drive from Gauteng.
We facilitate a number of team-building activities, provide very good meals, conference facilities as
well as accommodation for up to 120 learners / students.
We are situated in a very safe environment. You are welcome to run your own program, or make
use of our facilitators, for the activities we provide
You will find this lovely 2 to 8 sleeper fully air-conditioned self-catering lodge - situated in a `game
corridor` - deep in the heart of the African bush, bordering the world famous Kruger National Park.
Enjoy the magnificent nature and well visited drinking hole right in front of you! Our four legged
friends like kudu, zebra, warthog, mongoose and monkey are visiting on a regular basis, and some
will feed out of your hand - so keep the food ready! The lovely male bush-buck with mom and lad as
well as the small duiker family also visits during early morning and afternoon. The patrys, flogs of
guinea fowl and other birds will pick up their food during the day.
